*The show opens with Vince McMahon on the screen he says that he now owns WCW and will address fans later tonight in a simulcast on both TNT and TNN
*WCW United States Champion Booker T defeated Scott Stiener to become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
*Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman defeated Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias and Kaz Hyashi & Jimmy Yang to earn a shot at the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship's later.
*Shane Helms defeated Chavo Guerrero Jr. to retain the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship
*Sean O'Haire & Chuck Palumbo defeated Lance Storm & Mike Awesome to retain the WCW World Tag Team Championship's
*Shawn Stasiak defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in a Loser Gets A Tattoo match
*Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman defeated Elix Skipper & Kid Crusher to become the new WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champion's
*During the Cruiserweight Tag Title match, Tony Shiavone broke kayfabe and brought up comments that William Regal made dissing WCW. Tony responded by saying he had to spend years trying to put Regal's ass over.
*Sting defeated Ric Flair. After the match they hugged
*The broadcast cuts to RAW. Jim Ross & Paul Heyman will now take over announcing for both RAW and Nitro
*Vince McMahon comes out to the ring. He says that he has agreed to purchase WCW. And he will finalize it at WrestleMania 17 when Ted Turner hand deliver's him the contract. Vince talks about his upcoming match with Shane McMahon at Mania. Vince says he will do to Shane what he did to WCW. Vince asks if he should run WCW or if he should put it on the shelf. Vince says WCW will remain buried. Shane McMahon comes out to the ring at Nitro. Shane says the deal has been finalized and the name on the contract does read McMahon. But it reads Shane McMahon. Shane says he now owns WCW. Shane says at WrestleMania he is going to whip Vince's ass just like WCW used to do.
